Walking through the Appian Way - the highway called "Regina Viarum", the Queen of roads – built at the time of Roman Empire, you forget about noise and car traffic of the city of Rome. Once you get at Via Appia Antica 299, you listen to the silence of "Il Casaletto" – a small country-house.
That’s the outbuilding of an old farm built at the beginning of the 1900s to breed cows and sheep and it turns out to be a peaceful and relaxing house to guest people fond of history, arts and nature.
The visitor can stroll through a huge olive-grove or admire the ancient aqueduct dating back to the 2nd century AD – built by Quintilii brothers – one of the great aristocratic families of ancient Rome – or take a view of the Roman Hills – within a stone’s throw.
